5/5/16 Boxing evasion, pad rounds and knife

BOXING - EVASION
The main theme of the boxing portion of the class was evasion.

Our primary tool os to move the feet, strategy two, when in closer, is moving the body out of the line of punches. We drilled the methods of slipping, shoulder rolling, bobbing and weaving.

Feeder throws alternate solo jabs; response is slipping. Point with the shoulder, keep the spine up not bent over, lose the neck. So if he throws a left jeb, you slip with your left shoulder.

Feeder throw double jab; response is slip outside, make a mistake by slipping inside, then weave under to get back on the outside.double crossSlipping outside, inside, weaving. Repeat the same actions when the feeder throws a double cross.

Feeder throws a straight lead and then a rear hook; response is slip then bob and weave.slipping, bob and weave.

Feeder throws a straight lead and then a rear hook, response is shoulder roll then bob and weave.

Feeder throw 40% speed continual straight and hook punches; putting it all together, evade, evade, evade. Hands up, lose the neck, use the legs not bending at the waits, eyes always on the attacker. Try to see the lines of attack based on where their punches are starting from.
